After the 2007 rains, one creek cleanup turned into a full property haul-out
I remember the smell of wet oak leaves and silt when we rolled into Centennial after those heavy 2007 rains. The San Francisquito Creek creekbeds had filled up with branches, yard waste, and broken odds and ends from nearby properties, and the piles kept spreading as crews worked their way out. Around the post-2000 mixed-use buildings, space got tight fast, and we had to keep access clear for residents and trucks. When debris starts backing up that close to homes and drainage paths, the stakes jump from ugly to urgent.
We brought in the right box for mixed debris, set it where our truck could reach without blocking the narrow access, and kept the load organized so the cleanup crew didn’t lose momentum. I’ve done enough of these to know that wet debris packs heavy, so we staged it in layers and hauled it off before it turned into a bigger mess. Javier built Peninsula Dumpster Rental around that kind of response, and our crew kept Centennial moving until the site looked manageable again and the drainage line could breathe.
You showed up fast and kept that creek cleanup from turning into a bigger problem for our place.
